Position Summary
The Give Chances Inc. is seeking an individual to develop afterschool curriculum and learning materials and to manage afterschool programs for the children and youth of low-income immigrant families. The Education Coordinator will work closely with the director and staffs of the organization and afterschool (e.g., teachers and volunteer tutors) to design, develop, and implement curriculum, educational activities, and instructional materials. The Give Chances Inc. works for low-income immigrant families and their communities and the Education Coordinator will work with their children and youth.
This position is a 9- month paid internship position. However, after internship contract, with the applicant’s request, the position can turn into a permanent position of the organization based on the result of work evaluation.

Primary Responsibilities:
The Education Coordinator will:
Work with the senior program officers to develop and refine the Afterschool program and materials for a wide range of out-of-school time activities Facilitate the development of an educationally relevant set of activities and support resources and tools Deliver teaching and tutoring to the children with the program team Provide support to teachers and volunteer tutors as they deliver teaching and tutoring; work with them to monitor and evaluate classes and make adjustments Conduct research and provide recommendations for instructional strategies and relevant resources for the enhanced class delivery
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
· Display strong educational competence with respect for and extensive knowledge of the child development, teaching, and learning
· Experience developing and delivering educational programs, curriculum, and extra curricular activities
· Commitment to supporting development of children of low-income immigrants families through quality out-of-school time programs
· Experience and willingness to facilitate children with a wide range of intellectual development and engagement level to participate in the learning programs.
· Highly collaborative, with the ability to work with a team and a wide range of learners as well as the ability to work independently
· Energetic, positive and learning-centered
· Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
· Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
· Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to develop, build and manage relationships
· Tolerance for working in a fasted-pace, entrepreneurial environment
· Second Language skills: Korean or Spanish language skills are helpful and preferred
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or above Degrees in Education, Child & Youth Ministry, or related field is preferred. Experience teaching and/or working with diverse children, youth and/or communities. Demonstrated experience developing and implementing educational programming, including developing a curriculum and related service delivery model. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Comfortable speaking in front of large and small groups. Strong computer and technology skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google tools) and interest in and ability to learn new platforms. Ability to travel statewide Flexible schedule
